The Garden Club of America Headquarters in NY March 7, 2018

At the invitation of the President, Dede Petri, I gave my first talk about my new book, Heroes of Horticulture: Americans Who Transformed The Landscape, at the headquarters of The Garden Club of America.  She is shown with me above with Sandra Thomas, Chair of the GCA Audit Committee and Zone VII Director.  That was on March 7, 2018, the day of the first of the blizzards du jour of the many that followed throughout the wintery month of March.   I had never visited the main office before, and it is beautifully decorated while being wonderfully functional to carry on the important business of the GCA around the country.  Their was an elegant lunch as shown here and an audience of stalwarts brave enough to carry on despite the storm that began to rage outside.  The book had just come out and I only had a few copies in hand but now more are available — see my website at www.brushhillgardens.com for more information.
