Book Talk for the Mystic Garden Club

On Tuesday morning, November 14th, I was warmly welcomed by Cathy Alsop to the Mystic Garden Club.  Here she is with the President of the Garden Club, Karen Wolfskhel shown with me above.    When Cathy first invited me to speak, I had high hopes that I would have my new book in hand. That was not to be, although the new book is now at the printer!  Hooray!

After Cathy introduced me with overly kind words. I spoke about my first book, Rosemary Verey: The Life and Lessons of a Legendary Gardener, but I also gave a sneak preview of the new book to come, Heroes of Horticulture: Americans Who Transformed the Landscape.  Postcards with the image of the cover was all I had to hand out but the book should be available early next year. The meeting was held at the historic Congregational Church in the center of Mystic, Connecticut. There was a large turn out and lovely arrangements on display, along with delicious treats for the break.  It was an honor and a pleasure to be with this group who give so much back to their community.
